The Best 3 Bags to Start Your Luxury Collection

I have been cultivating my luxury and contemporary handbag collection for the last six years. There are specifically three things that I think make an exceptional luxury bag which I will share with you, and I will recommend one staple handbag that can absolutely deliver!

1. Neutral, durable leather.

You can't go wrong with a full leather bag that is in a neutral, wearable color. I started with the Gucci Soho Disco and to this day it is still in my collection. A camera style bag is also a great option as it is casual, easy to carry, and holds a lot. Leather such as calfskin is incredibly durable. Also, anything that is a pebbled leather typically holds up better as it doesn't easily get any scratches or scuffs.

2. Multiple ways to wear.

As you're looking to find the best bag for you and your lifestyle, it's really nice to have a bag that can be worn multiple ways. Not only can you get a feel for your preference for optimal comfort, but you can also play around with one bag and wear it for varying occasions. I love when I can take one bag from day to night no matter where I am going. I generally prefer a bag that has a top handle and can be worn crossbody. If it also can be worn as a shoulder bag that's an added bonus!

3. Classic style that will stand the test of time.

My Pick: The Fendi Baguette

This is my favorite bag in my entire collection is the Fendi Baguette. I have two that are vintage versions and one from the new era. This one is so versatile, durable, and will never go out of style. The black and gold matches everything in my wardrobe. The guitar strap crossbody makes it edgy and easy to wear as an everyday bag while the gold hardware and lambskin leather make it exceptionally classy for evening events.

BONUS: To build a lasting a collection, find a bag that has all 3! These are the things I keep in my mind before I make a purchase, and it truly helps to ensure that I am spending my money on things that will become long term items in my collection.
